Developmental Disabilities

Alarys Home Health provides services to many people with developmental disabilities who live in the general community, either with family members, or in their own homes. Our in-home services are provided via one-to-one assistance from an Habilitation Technician with identified aspects of daily living. These services are, but are not limited to, the following: assistance with community safety, socialization, skills to gain and maintain independence, household tasks, such as cooking and cleaning, and personal care such as showering, dressing and the administration of medication.

Through our one-to-one assistance Alarys strives to help individuals identify and undertake new hobbies or to access community services, learning appropriate behavior or recognition of community norms, or with relationships and expanding circles of friends. Our program offers at-home and community support that has been designed with the goal of increasing the individual’s independence, although it is recognized that some may never be able to achieve full independence in some areas of daily life.

Alarys also provides respite opportunities in order to relieve family members of basic caregiving functions and make it possible to spend quality time, rather than the functional caregiving time. Our goal is to provide the individual and family with continuity of care and dependable services. We require all families to meet with their provider before services begin to develop a plan of care.
